This is a pure “Screen-the-Screener” (STS) action, and it is a blindside manipulation play. The diagonal angle of the final screen makes it nearly impossible for the defender to see it coming (“Blind Pig”), leading to wide-open layups or dunks.
This play relies entirely on manipulating the defender’s field of vision. By the time they see the screen, the cutter is already at the rim.
